Wow, what a tragedy. Seems like there is a lot of missing information here and I hope police get to the bottom of it and punish all those involved.
I am guessing this women Uber driver and this "dad" were in some sort of cahoots or at least knew each other well as the article suggests. As to whether they were planning to sell the child (prostitution?!) is still unclear but god I hope not.

Heartbreaking, truly sickening. We need a lot tougher background checks for the drivers as well as the passengers. Uber and Lyft don't care unfortunately

Oh gosh, this is just devastating. Poor little girl. I find it strange that if this women and man where is cahoots that they would use her Uber account - so dumb!!
Why do they have to say uber like its a problem with uber drivers. This woman was gonna do something like this with uber or not. Uber has nothing to do with it.
