For more than 4 passengers, SUVs and larger size cars are required.
If you have more than four passengers, you would need to request a larger vehicle, such as those offered for services like UberXL, Lyft Plus and UberSUV. These options can hold up to 6 passengers.
Caution: If you request a smaller car that only holds up to 4 passengers, the driver has the right to decline your request upon arrival. In fact, they are prohibited from taking more than 4. This is true even if the car that shows up happens to be an SUV. (UberX ride requests can be matched up with SUVs if the driver is accepting them.) The driver can either decline OR submit for a fare adjustments. The adjustment will adjust the fare to the one of the larger service, e.g. UberXL.
