I get that it is dangerous to be a nurse/doctor right now and I appreciate all they do but this really rubbed me the wrong way. I was driving this nurse to work the other night and she was going on about how much danger she is in and how little she makes in comparison. I was just sort of agreeing along, not paying too much attention. But then she starts talking about how rides for essential workers should really be free... awkward silence. then she said "In the past other uber drivers have shut off the app for me." Does she not understnad that I need to earn a living too and technically being an uber driver is also an essential job!? The way she just try inadvertently to guilt me into giving her a free ride made me so mad.

Shame. There're always people who try to take advantage of their status.

It's a form of an entitlement. They quickly start to expect things, regardless of whether they deserve it or not. Being a hero is about doing something without expectation for a reward.

This whole rideshare thing is getting really weird these days. like drivers taking temperatures of passengers, and peeling off when it's too high.

It's like that time when the AT&T (I think?) gave all the nurses at one of the Boston hospitals free cell phone service for three months.  The next day, every other medical staff started to complain why they aren't getting free service

I didn't know how to feel about that.
