But why?  There are hundreds of code writing folks at Uber.  The app requires continual maintenance!  What would be the purpose?  Starting your own service???  Hope you have a few million laying around to invest in marketing!  We can't possible drive for less than we do now, so what exactly would be your "catch"...  why would people change to a different service?

Well, for one, to improve the current taxi companies. They still exist, you know. :)

One major area of this industry people look over is the over-bloated dispatching services. These phone-based call centers are inefficient and no one likes them.

With an Uber like app, maybe smaller taxi markets (maybe those without Uber) can equip themselves better.

I agree with what Daims said, and to add, I’d say this is the type of competition we need in the marketplace.

Think of open source tech like Android and Linux. Like you said, no one can compete with Uber’s cash, but I’d like to think innovation will always be up for grasp!!

Uber Clone app is an app that is similar to the Uber. It has all the features and functionalities that are in Uber.

I never looked into it but I figured such a thing exists. It should be an open source.

I’ve always claimed it’s easy to start an Uber-like company. Every taxi company in every locality would just deploy an app like this.
