Uber will soon know if you’re drunk and could refuse to pick you up

Doesn't this eliminate like 90% of the Uber application.  How the heck am I supposed to get home now?

Uber has filed a patent for an artificial intelligence system which could be used to tell if passengers are drunk and potentially refuse them service. Its computer scientists have invented an artifical intelligence network capable of guessing a ‘user’s state’ through machine learning. The techalyzer will be able to work out whether passengers are likely to ‘behave uncharacteristically (e.g., abnormally) during a trip’ and then automatically ‘modify their journey’. Although the patent does not explicitly mention inebriation, it could be used to help drivers turn down people who have a few too many.

I heard about this awhile back. They did say that they may "train" willing drivers to handle drunk people. Those drivers would do the pick ups. Dont know what kind of training could be involved. Probably have to watch a video. Then you are a Certified drunk pick up Uber driver. Maybe Uber will supply a few vomit bags for getting certified. Uber would be absolutely foolish to decline riders who were drunk. Friday and Saturday nights after 9pm thats mostly what you get people headed out to party. Pick ups at 2 to 3am almost guarantee you a drunk rider or at very least a pick up from bar with a slightly buzzed rider:)

The nasty drunk idiots downvoted this. They're mad because Uber is trying to stop them from puking in people's cars. Oh woe is the drunks. They can walk home for all I give a fuck.

So you would rather have those drunk idiots get behind the wheel?

No dumbass. My point is: Uber and Lyft aren’t your baby sitter. Uber and Lyft isn’t some saving grace or baby sitter for grown ass adults who should drink more responsibly. It’s not my responsibility to make sure some grown ass adult doesn’t make the dumb decision to drive drunk. Grow tf up

You are fucking R3T4RD3D. You asked would I let a drunk person get behind the wheel, and I answered your question. When someone makes the choice to driver for Uber or Lyft, they have the option to drive drunk people home or not. That’s the point dumbass. No it doesn’t have to be your job to drive drunks home, but when you chose to be a rideshare driver, then you are presented with that option.

You’re all mad and butthurt and down voting my comments because I’m speaking out against sick people who like to use people’s personal cars as their toilets. You are a POS.
