The only cheaper options in the USA would be UberPool or UberPool Express, but neither can take four passengers. Only 2. So there's your answer right there!
I was going to disagree for the sake of disagreeing by saying trains and buses, but when there are four passengers, UberX is probably fractions cheaper. so I lose yet again.
Great question. I'd say on a bicycle with four seats.
That jokes doesn't even work anymore because the rideshare market is now full of those rental scooters and rent-by-the-minute bicycles.
