You are limited to one additional passenger. Most cars are limited at 4 passengers, which translates to 2 pickups for the ride. (However, in some markets Uber can arrannge up to three pickups. Of course, assuming there is enough capacity in the car.)

Do I have to specify this in the app? It looks like in the image, you can specify it, but what happens if I don't?
The drivers are supposed to decline service to your friend if you do not specify this in advance. From what I hear, this isn't being enforced by many drivers, but there can be awkward moments, if the driver show up at a location, and the car is full...
