I feel there’s enough value in just having access to a truck. A truck that just shows up at your door, so you don’t have to rent one at a local Home Depot.
I don’t always want a dude showing up charging me by the hour.
Pensacola, FL has lots of Uber, despite the service being relatively new there. They weren't even allowed at the airport just a few years ago, say 2016. They have since allowed them.
With that said, it'd be a pretty expensive trip if you are taking it from Pensacola to Destin. (if you are) If renting is possible, it may be more economical that way.
While there? not sure how popular it is in Destin. I'd imagine in a vacation-y place like that, I think it'd be okay. Worst case, you can always take regular cabs!
Yes. Absolutely. The fake subsidized fares are over, folks. Just like Amazon and Twitter when they went IPO, is they have to start making profits. They now have to raise fees. Simple math.
It will soon be the prices of taxis of ten+ years ago. This was Uber’s plan all along.
I do have to say that this business model is a pretty easy to copy, and also not that expensive to enter. I already see a mud fight in the near future.
You say just a bunch of bicycles but they offer powered scooters that are pretty darn convenient.
Sadly, I am starting to hear this more and more often where drivers get falsely accused by passengers. Is it because more ignorant (and shameless) people are taking Ubers?
I had a Orlando to Gainesville ride the other day. Made $150. Then I had 3 on the back leg. I do have to commennd Uber app for the destination preference. I didn't think it works that well with all the complaints I have heard.
I drive UberX in Orlando and we actually get quite a number of requests from hospitals, nursing homes, etc, e.g. non-emergency medical rides. It's rather very lucrative, except the drop-offs and pickups take a bit longer. I have memorized these locations like the back of my hand, as they are GREAT places to go during slower times, say midday.10AM~2PM. Basically, when it isn't busy at other locations, it's busy there.
What story?

Dude, 100 pounds?! So it looks like we will be moving furniture and loading the truck too?
So it's basically a moving service. Not so much a truck rental.
This seems like an excellent idea. UberJumpStart. It should be a service they offer.

Look, it's like $90

There’s too many things to process for me to comprehend.
I think it's saying that an IPO (any IPO) is a chance for the public (even middle-class) to invest in a company.
Nothing specific to this IPO. It's dumb.
Connected individuals will be making millions on IPO Day 1. Suckers are those in middle school who try to buy in at that price.
I love it how everyone talks about the IPO being a big deal but it will affect us (the normal people) NONE.

You would get destroyed financially if you tried to pull that off.

The whole world is watching!! They better get this right!
not comfortable though.

oh neat. i kept thinking this was insurance but it's for car repairs and maintenance.
Where I am, i can see the destination as long as you keep the acceptance rate above 80 or 90. (I can't remmeber which). Isn't that awesome?
Well, the fact they do background checks could primarily be for press and publicity. Not necessarily for the legal liabilities.

Old people travel when young people don't.
