Uber has been going downhill for years now. I am just waiting for them to eventually get run over by a fast new young start up. People are tired of Uber and with Covid I bet a lot of people would be in the right mindframe to try a new company once things start to open back up. The switching cost is not going to seem so big after not taking rideshares for a year.
Wasn't this old news? I seem to remember something like this a few months ago. When I read about it Uber was very vague making me think they wouldn't really be kicking people off the platform lol
Wow, 57 million. That is pretty nuts. You know whats funny, I used to notice traffic was heaviest around the typical rush hour times (6-9am and 4-7pm) but over the last couple of years I feel like there is always traffic no matter the day or time. I used to wonder how so many people were not working in the middle of the day but now I realize that probably a majority of those people are just gig workers or odd job workers.
Isn't the unemployment rate really down right now too? I would think it would be harder for Uber and Lyft to keep finding new drivers for their high turnover.
I think the easy entry into this kind of job is why so many people do it. There are not many other jobs that you can sign up for so easily and start making money so quickly.
Not sure why Lyft is considered the "nicer" company. In my opinion, they both treat drivers pretty poorly. Lyft scammed me out of my sign up bonus too...
I drive in Chicago and it is worth it, definitely busier than most nights. I bet this upcoming weekend will be big too. If you are up for it, I hit a big surge last year late at night around 2am.

I mean come on, everyone jay walks that is such a normal occurence that I am frankly astounded that they did not prepare for this situation.
Right, I have a feeling they will never announce the rating our more details so that they can get away with not having to actually enforce this.

Is the Uber support handle really all that interesting? I would think it would just be full of whiny riders?
Bets on when this will actually be available? I read an article every other day claiming this kind of tech is "coming soon". I call BS.
