  Now, now, let’s not judge the book by its cover. 

  Then again, if the most intriguing thing about this book is the fact he rode an Uber for 5000 miles, I can’t imagine the content to be that good.

  Try taking a cab in New York. The irony is that you don't really need to know English to get aroudn New York.  Most of the time,  you just say two numbers, e.g. 49th and 3rd.  49 and 3.  done. you are at the Eastside.

  Dangerous drivers.  Those who speed or weave in and out of traffic. No, I'd rather get their safer than dead.

  Cranky drivers. It doesn't matter if it's towards me or other people on the road. The true nature often come out when driving.

   6 years ago in  Your Uber app will now automatically detect if you are in trouble.

  I have a feeling this can cause many false positives.

  "Oooh, I dropped my phone.  Great, now the cops are here."

  "Oooh, I asked the driver to stop so I can pick up a burrito, and now the fire fighters are spraying down my Uber driver."

  "Oooh, I had a missed call from Uber's emergency response team and now my driver is being arrested and cuffed."

   6 years ago in  If a drive is not driving the car in the app when he picks you up are your protected under Lyft insurance etc?

  Oh, gosh. I am not a lawyer or an insurance expert, but I would imagine the insurance claim can be declined if there is anything amiss, including driving a car that isn't even registered with Lyft.

  I finally got around to reading this, while I stared at the headline in skepticism.  Yes, this is FAKE NEWS  Uber isn't proactively and intentionally blocking transgenders.  They don't even know who and which drivers are transgender.  Come one, man.  CNBC. That's just so trashy.

  I bet since you joined in the midst of it all, you fell through the crack and didn't get hitched by ANY of these weird hacks that Uber tried to put into place.  So you didn't get switched to Philly.  You didn't get into a consolidated NJ/PA territory.  You didn't get a notification or an offer to change

  Typical Uber. LOL. WORST COMMUNICATION EVER.

  Well, if you are gonna mention capitalism, isn't that what this is?  Consumers pay whatever they are willing to pay, drivers are working for whatever they get paid, and Uber tries to take as much as everyone allows it.

  I understand your frustrations, and yes Uber is evil for overcharging the unsuspecting consumers.  However, aren't you still getting paid the posted rates?
