There are lots of these affluent Uber ambassadors who make a killing as semi-drivers. Their secret (?) isn't so much to drive but to refer other drivers. There is significant opportunity for income there.
I can think of two. One is Joseph Ziyaee who used his personal network to spread his referral code.

The other is some college kids who made six figures handing out business cards with Lyft rides on them.

and, of course, the famous TheRideshareGuy who signs up thousands of other drivers by guiding people to
Do these even count as "uber drivers." I think we are all challenging the technicality department.

I know this is not fair to him, but why does he always look a bit evil in everyone of these pictures?
One look and all I can picture is him yelling at everyone. like everyone. strangers, dog walker, a man in the ice cream truck. it doesn't matter.
No, dude. he isn't really an uber driver. Whatever that photo is is a publicity stunt.
Also, that article says that he discovers how hard it is to be an Uber driver. Isn't that like an counterexample of him being an Uber driver.
No one has mentioned Travis Kalanick yet? Even after his demise, he is worth $4.8 billion, and he used to drive an Uber. (or at least he claimed it on Colbert show.
Wasn't there something about how he didn't have a driver's license or something. and was against owning his car.
I bet he had an answer for whatever marketing campaign was running at the time.
I have no idea how much he is worth, but Jimmy Kimmel drove an Uber once...
This question should be changed to, "Who is the richest person who has driven an Uber?"
Gavin Escolar - Filipino guy that drives and sells his jewlery while driving passengers. Supposedly makes $250,000 a year.
Am I cheating if I bring up people who didn't make money directly off of driving?

You guys are forgetting the founder of Kayak, Paul English, who drives (at least supposedly) his Tesla Uber in Boston. He is worth more than $2B.
