Lyft/Uber: Things I Wish I'd Known Before I Started Driving [munchkym]
I don't know who this is, but she actually has good advice. -
Why isn't a bicycle delivery a thing? UberRush closed, and Caviar I hear is struggling Why not use bikes rather than cars?

Teens using mom's account. Throws a tantrum. Punches Uber driver's face and pours soda on her. [ABC6]
Weren't we discussing this on this forum where minors were taking Ubers? This minor attempts to use her mother's account. …
It’ll fail by pure economics. Taco Bell is literally the cheapest food available and are sold at still very slim margin. How can hand delivering it ever make sense.
At some busy restaurants or larger restaurants, they have UberEats specified parking spots now. Super nice. Applebee's have all kinds of parking now. Handicap parking, ToGo parking (Curbside Pickup), and now GrubHub spot.
Changing times. Soon, the food establishments will go the route of brick and mortar retail stores.
DONALD TRUMP OF MUSIC.
It's funny because to some this is a compliment.
What’s this sting for? For the sake of taxi drivers who actuslly can?
Or is it for the sake of Uber who wants a piece of the revenue
I find it interesting that Uber gets in trouble for their drivers doing stupid things and also gets into trouble for non-Uber drivers doing stupid things.
Such crook. Glad they were keeping track. Repeat offenders always get caught. How dumb.
I think you properly used the no show. That’s exactly how it’s supposed to be used.
Isn't Jump based out of Santa Monica?
NO. This industry has been calling it wrong this whole time anyways. "rideshares" always existed. It's about people sharing rides. Not cars. Not with professional drivers. Uber borrowed that term and it stuck.
Perhaps the better question is which one has more surges and pays more. Does anyone know?
I didn't know Uber already had access to the South African Mafia.
NYC Medallion was $1.5MM. I heard yesterday they are selling for $150K in the bankruptcy market
arguable. If I drove my flatmate to the airport and he hands me $10 for gas money, i am not running a business.
Honestly, I can't even find their phone number.
They have like a new hotline, where you message them and they are supposed to call you back, but it never has worked. Dead serious. I got some texts from some foreign person, and when I responded, I got some automated messages back. It's VERY weird. Did they grow too fast? How's their 180-day to change going? LOL.
I wonder why no other passenger pointed it out. Maybe they thought it was yours and for your protection.
A bit weird to find something like that though. I mean for other passengers who got on after.
Yeah, I think the understanding is that it just popups and offers you a discount. I don't think it's like a real feature that you access or invoke proactively.
well, eff you because I make $150K driving an UberBlack.
I was also able to break the app when I was testing it. I tried booking something for 3:00PM and another for 2:55PM, and, even though I got a confirmation in the app, I never saw the 2:55 PM entry appear.
I tried again for 2:55PM, and then I got an error.
Then I checked my Inbox, and I saw a bunch of confirmations saying they were booked but then when I opened some of them, it had "None" shown for pickup times.
I cancelled all the rides under "My Trips", but I wonder it they will all show up now. Scary.
Look at how secret Didi kept the Mexico involvement. I assume Didi is already hiring and working on landing on the shores of USA.
Of course, they may need to figure out some of the conflict of interests that may arise while expanding into America. For example, LYFT. They own a big chunk and have had partnership with them. So what happens now?
yet another company who answers all questions by "it's per driver discretion."
Is this lazy and absolves them from liability? or is it more that they cannot dictate due to the drivers being indepdent drivers?
