"Trying to time your Uber ride so you get the lowest fare is always a bit of a gamble, but now, the company is testing out a feature that would let you opt to wait to get a cheaper ride."
Apparently, the app will tell you something like "If you wait 4 more minutes your fare will be 25 cents cheaper"

i don't really understand how this feature works. Do I put it in the preference how long I am willing to wait for my rides? or do I type that in every time? Is it an yes/no question I get ? So many questions.
No one knows. Uber just spurts out these features, so everyone is seeing things for the first time. I have a buddy who works Uber and he doesn't know any of these things that are being released. He told me every feature release is phased in and every region has its own schedule. They make no announcements.
Yeah, I think the understanding is that it just popups and offers you a discount. I don't think it's like a real feature that you access or invoke proactively.
Just like anything else with Uber, they just give us wahtever and we take it.
If you need to wait 4 minutes to save 25 cents just take the freaking subway...
No, no. I finally get it now. It's for avoiding surges... I am assuming. At least that's a good example. If you wait 20 minutes and you knew there'd be no surge, wouldn't you wait?
I just use RideGuru :)
This seems very Un-Uber like to me...
This is what I tell my friends and family when they complain about surge pricing.
"just wait 15 minutes and you'll save 50%"
You know, that's a good call. This is basically to avoid surge pricing, isn't it. That's all it is. No elaborate price adjustments. It's basically a simply message that tells people to just request again in 15 minutes.
OK so it is 6:30 AM I woke up early to check how much I have to go really far yesterday it was 80 today it’s 183 this is ridiculous. When is a good time in the morning to catch an Uber does not so much money. Philly to the Jersey
Attention all Uber drivers uninstall your uber app and surge up lyft . Cheap prices equals cheap people.
