Any Drivers testing "Taco Mode" for Lyft in their market?

Taco Mode Lyft? Seriously?

This is getting absolutely rediculous. Lyft and Uber are trying anything and everything to make a profit. Submarines, helicopters, what next? Uber teamed up with Cargo and drivers get 1.00 if riders order/purchase an item from Cargo. We are getting into the big bucks now:) Lyft teamed up with Taco Bell. They need to increase fares (sorry riders) and stop spending every dime they get on autonomous cars.

Taco mode didn't last a week before it was discontinued.  Yet another example of bad marketing ideas that were implemented without considering real world problems.  (that could have been avoided has they sought input from actual drivers)

Agreed RedAnt! I think the higher ups at Uber despise drivers. We are "a means to an end". We are looked at as  taking $ out of their pockets (because they dont all ready make enough) and the companys. We should want do it for free and ruin our vehicles for the good of Uber:) Uber and Dara want to take over all the transportation industry. They would rather cut off their nu+s then ask drivers for input (Oh wait Dara has experience driving:)  It would be so simple to put a panel of real drivers together from a few major cities & few smaller cities (as needs can vary) to make improvements where needed. They could pay those IC t shirt wearing drivers from the rally another 100.00 gift card & a free meal for their input. Although I suspect they would still do it just for the free meal.

Uber is a great business idea.  Instead of improving on what they have "power and greed" became more important. They can run Uber right into the ground but Da…

Uber is a great business idea.  Instead of improving on what they have "power and greed" became more important. They can run Uber right into the ground but Dara, Travis, and the rest of those idiots will still have made a killing. They could retire today and never have to work another day in their lives. I think the more they screw drivers the happier they become. Dara & higher ups at Uber would choose death, removal of limb/appendage, or ruining Uber before they would take advice from a Driver. There are many drivers out there who could run Uber & make it profitable. Just proves that greed and power are more important to some people.

        Two points

        - Drivers to them are just numbers. In mature cities, there are plenty of drivers so they really don’t have to do much.

        - Yes they despise them and their investment in driverless vehicles speak to that

Well said, but there's DAC (driver advisory counsel) for Lyft and DAF (driver advisory forum) for Uber. I wonder who those drivers are and how they're picked? Every email I get says as per your feedback, my feedback? I never gave feedback to take PT away, I guess they did. 😆

Yeah, they tried that in Los Angeles couple of years ago and it failed miserably. Imagine taking every pot head for a taco run when they get the munchies. They stopped it after a month or two, another genius idea.

It’ll fail by pure economics. Taco Bell is literally the cheapest food available and are sold at still very slim margin. How can hand delivering it ever make sense.

Just another marketing idea. Taco Mode does have a funny ring.

All will work itself out. No sense in wasting our breaths.

I do feel this is weird how Uber and Lyft are endorsing these companies and suggesting that we be making money selling stuff.

It’s like they gave up on profiting from rides and jumping to other ventures. ...making us do things outside of our job description.

It’s their way of admitting how crappy the pay is, so they want you to be a 7-11 in your car to make ends meet. Horrible!
