Of course you can! I do it all the time to go to Shaw's Supermarket on an Uber. I live in a city, and I take Uber every time on a rainy day.
The driver will not wait for you unless you ask. I always end the trip at the store and then request another on the way home. Sometimes, the nice drivers will wait for you in the parking lot so when you get out, you are matched up with them. That's a win-win!
Always keep in mind there may be Surge with uber. it seems like it's always higher than usual now.
I am thinking drivers would frown on putting luggage in the front seat. Is there a law on that kind of stuff? For that matter, I feel odd asking a bunch of suitcases to be placed on any seats. Is that just me?
