No, not quite. You must notify Uber
When you sign up as a driver, Uber assigns you to a particular city. Therefore, you will only be able to receive requests from Los Angeles area. This is because each city has unique regulations, and Uber needs to run different background checks.
Remember though, that being able to drive in Los Angeles means you can drive in cities around Los Angeles. Check out the map at: https://www.uber.com/cities/los-angeles/
If you want to SWITCH cities, you have to contact Uber and submit a special request. This process can take time and can require another background check. This also is for "switching" cities, so once the request goes through, you may not be able to drive for LA anymore. So be careful!
