No, you do not. Your friend rides for free.
Yes, you can bring a friend on an UberPool, and no your friend does not pay. The additional passneger is free!
One caveat. You can only bring ONE friend on each UberPool and you MUST specify this when requesting the ride. Don't forget or the driver may decline your friend from hopping on. (or the car can simply be full.)
