Damage to the vehicle

I had a passenger who caused $1500.00 worth of damage.  Ride sharing company I worked for, wouldn't share the name of a passenger with me, and they did not assist me in any way with a claim.

Child of a passenger threw a pen down a heating/cooling duct in my dashboard crashing the plastic column and burning the electric motor which moves the column up and down.  I didn't realize it until they were gone.  I was helping mom with her shopping bags.

What would you do?

Yeah, that's so messed up.  That hasn't happened to me, but I was told that I should call my insurance company, and have them figure it out.  If you have a comprehensive coverage, they can cover damages (not sure about an airvent though), and if they see fault in a third-party, they can go after Uber or the riders.  I think it's called subrogation.  I wonder if Uber would respond to that?  Good luck!

Thanks for good word RPaulson.  This happened a long time ago, since then I had another passenger burn a hole in my back seat, and a third urinated on my front seat.  I don't drive any more for ride share.  I will never drive brainless abominations that resemble humans again.  If you do, watch out.  Uber or Lyft will just send you idiotic emails.  They will not reimburse you for more than "cleaning fee" worth of damages shown in your contract.

I don't need luck any more.  If you drive for rideshare, you do, so good luck to you.
