If you are new to driving for Uber & Lyft or you never thought about it this is the best night to drive. The night before Thanksgiving is busiest drinking night of the year. Bigger than New Years Eve.  Assuming you don't mind driving intoxicated people and your market isn't flooded with drivers you can make really good $. My 1st year driving I made over $350.00 in 6 hrs. Of course it helped that we had the multiplier surge but even the past 2 yrs with flat surge it was still a profitable night. Starting at 1am the request didnt stop until 3:30am. I even watched as people were walking home from bars in the cold with no coat as there was not enough drivers.

Cities are very busy but driving in the city comes with high traffic. You end up sitting in traffic to pick up people bar hopping only going a few blocks away.  Most drivers tend to go near the city as it is busy but the area gets flooded with drivers. Surge doesnt last very long.

I found finding a spot in the suburbs that has 5 or more popular bars in a 5 mile radius is very profitable.   Position yourself in the middle of these bars. Surge tends to be higher in this area as there are not many drivers. Tips tend to be bigger as riders are thankful that you were there to get them. Surge tends to last longer as there are not many drivers in these areas. Make sure you have a full tank of gas by midnight. It's harder to find an open gas station in the burbs late at night. Been there made that mistake:) Busiest time starts around 10pm then gets even busier by midnight until 3am.  I drive in Philly and the suburbs in Bucks Co.

Find those bars in the burbs before that evening and get your spot to park picked out. Hopefully this year is as busy. For all those who drive hope you have a safe profitable night. Be careful as there are idiots who still drink and drive.

Did anyone drive on Wednesday? Did you drive at night dropping off or picking up from bars? I decided to stay away from bar trips. Didnt feel like dealing with drunks. Did my regular airport pick ups (no queue where I pick up from) and drop offs. Had all great riders. Traffic wasn't too bad. All long rides 35+ min. I had one rider that didnt tip. Two of my riders tipped me $20 one was a $35 ride the other was $37. The rest were 20%. All my rides were on Lyft except 1. The Uber rider did tip he was one of my $20 tippers. The 1 ride that didnt tip was Lyft. Hoping the rest of the weekend is somewhat busy with everyone going home or coming back. Be nice if tips like that continue through the holidays. Hope everyone had a nice holiday and made good money.

Great tips. Suburbs are where it's at on heavy nights like this. Everyone needs rides, rides tend to be longer, and if you find the right area you can be driving pretty much non stop. Night before thanksgiving is when all the college kids come home to roost and hang with their old high school pals. Definitely a big night.

Great advice! Thanks. This is when all those college kids are home and have high school reunions! Have you also driven on NYE? Do you feel like thanksgiving eve is really better?
