Avia posted that Uber drivers were making $19 an hour on average, and a high as $30 in NYC. Do you guys agree with this? Wasn't there another thread, wher ethey said it's under minimum wages? Like in Detroit, where they were getting paid like $8 or $13 an hour?
"Uber driver pay varies depending on where you live and how many hours you drive. I make between $19 and $23 an hour in Los Angeles. Studies across the nation show that Uber drivers make over $19 an hour on average. In New York City, the average Uber driver makes over $30 an hour. "

These numbers are very misleading. I'm Ride Share driver rather it's $8 to $30 per hour. This is not true wages. Because Uber or Lyft does not give you company car to drive.and tgey don't pay for your tires, gas, oil changes, Transmission Flushs, Head light bulbs, car washs, make your car payments. working full time you can put over 2,000 miles a week on your car. After all your expenses is how much do you make a hour. To make $20 a hour before taxes that you pay 100% of. You have to gross $35 to $40 per hour that would be a estimate.
Are you for real ? In NYC operation costs is 60 % of your net. The average gross is $1500 to 1800 per week. The average driver works 40 weeks out of the year to adjust for days off for whatever reason. Do the math and notice that it is better to ride the system and work off the books.
you must be talking about this

Yeah, 8~13 an hour. Sure, Denver, Detroit, and Houston aren't LA or NYC, but that's a pretty big gap.
Basically, this tells us that no one really knows what the right # is. I am sure it depends on whom you ask. and also whom to include in the survey, because all drivers are different. Some only drive a few hours and for some its' full time job.
I drive in Boston and don't make $19 an hour. Maybe 2 years ago before Uber slashed their prices so much. Now I make maybe $13/14?
