I do not have a smart phone, but do have an internet-connected computer and will need a ride to a train station next week. Can I use RideGuru to obtain a ride from a fixed address (my house), including hailing an Uber X if that's the best option?

When you use RideGuru to find your ride estimate and to hail a car you will still need an account with the rideshare service you choose in order to get a ride. In your situation, you will need an Uber account in order to hail your Uber car. Uber is designed to work on smartphones through the Uber app, however, there is a work-around to hailing your Uber ride through a desktop computer. In order to hail the Uber from your desktop (once you have an Uber account created) you need to first make sure your location services is on and working. Then go to their mobile site, http://m.uber.com , to request your ride! From there you should be all set though you will not be able to track your Uber car or rate your driver in real time as you would on your smartphone.

I do not have a smart phone, have a computer but do not have an internet-connected computer Can I use RideGuru to obtain a ride from my flip phone, including hailing an Uber X if that's the best option?I deliver corporate cars and trucks to homes and businesses. I pick up a vehicle from a dealer or "yard" and drive it xxxx miles and sign it over to an employee of conpanies who provide their staff with company cars. Once delivered I have to find and PAY for my own way out of the neighbourhood, industrial estate and back home this can eat up any profits. Does UBER or LYFT have a phone number to discuss options? Also I had an UBER account when I had an Android. BUT now I have a flip and the number of the previous owner of the phone number was an UBER account holder too. Therefore Uber on computer sign-up states that they cannot give me an UBER account on my new number as an UBER account was set up for another customer who had that original number---dog chasing it's tail.
Thank you Lilly, this is very helpful!
Cheers,
