If I would like to schedule a ride, but my problem is that I do not have a cell phone nor a land line phone. I do access to WI FI but only through my desk top computer. How can I schedule a ride?

You can go to Uber.com on your desktop computer and establish an account and schedule a ride.
You can email a friend who can schedule a ride for you on their phone, then that friend can email you and tell you what kind of car is picking you up and when and of course now you own some money to your friend :)
Best to get a cell phone though
