If I want a ride at 4AM is there going to be a problem?
The Guru Take
Rideshares like Uber and Lyft are 24/7.
Taxis and rideshare services are open 24/7, and you will notice that in most mid-sized to large cities, there are drivers available even at 4:00AM. If you are outside of a city or in a rural area, you may want to check the app at 4AM on previous days (or the previous) week, and see if there are drivers available. That will be a good gauge for when you actually need a ride.
There are scheduling options available for Uber and Lyft, but their rides are not necessarily guaranteed. If there are no drivers working on that day during that time, no drivers will show up, and your ride will automatically be cancelled. (With that said, Uber/Lyft both claim that they prioritize picking up scheduled passengers.)
Comments
I've never had a problem with early morning Ubers - I live outside of Boston.
I am a driver. I love working the early morning hours. So quiet. So peaceful. and big long rides to the airport and good tips from business travelers. Every Monday morning, I am out there.
and I will admit, I get out there sooner and sleep in the car.
