Hi there, I’m going to New York soon and I was wondering if I can use my Australian Uber account over there and if so will I be charged extra for using my Australian card that’s connected to my Uber account?

Yes, you can use the same Uber App in New York
Yes, you can use your current Uber app and Uber account in New York. Just open the app, make sure you have cellular or WiFi signal, and you can use it just like you do at home. There are plentiful of Uber vehicles in New York, so it is a great way to travel.
Uber will not charge special fees for being out-of-town guests, hence you will pay the same amount the New York locals will pay, which is good. Uber will leverage the same payment method you use at home, e.g. credit card.
The only caveat. The payment will be processed in the local currency, which is USD in this case. Your bank or credit card company may assess additional charges for foreign transactions and/or exchange fees.
