Yes, they would! There is a maximum distance / price, but you are ok.
Lyft does enforce time and distance limits to their trips. The limits are set differently by city, but in most cases, it is set at 100 miles and $200. ($500 in NYC/NJ, and $245 in LA.)
At that point, the ride will automatically be completed. If you need to go farther, you can re-request a ride, and, ideally, you will be connected with the same driver.
(UPDATE: Uber and Lyft no longer enforces a maximum distance. As long as the driver is okay, of course.)
