Lyft is testing it’s driverless cars in Las Vegas, they’re offering rides for 20% more than a human driven car. Would you ride in one? Would you trust being in car without a steering wheel, gas or brake pedal?
Will you get into a driverless car? If so would you pay the same price as a human driven car?

I would try it with a friend just to say I've done it, but my preference, at least at this point (not having done it) would definitely be with a live driver that I can talk to etc...
I feel the same way about express check out self scanning lanes - unless i really only have a couple of items and the lines are long for a live cashier, I'll almost always wait it out for a live cashier. I do NOT support the concept because we're eliminating a job for someone!!!
I did it In Vegas on Lyft, it took me twice as long to go a mile, 😆 and my heart was in my mouth.
Social responsibility is not on these people's agenda, the only thing they want is disruption and billions.
I guess they can charge more for the novelty of riding in a car like this? Seems odd. I guess you dont have to tip though! LOL
Well, I hope you too your drivers as much as you too your bartender or valet, otherwise, 1*?
They're supposed to be 50% less than human driven cars remember? That's how U/L will ever make money according to them.
Not happening for a good decade or more.
No way would I get into a driverless car. I dont get into a car driven by a human other than myself. Not only do I not trust a driverless car but who knows what the people before me did in that car. I see and hear what happens in Uber and Lyfts with drivers in the car. What are people going to do when they dont have a real driver in the car to keep them from acting like idiots? I see what people do to restrooms who knows what they would be up to in a driverless car. People are licking ice cream containers and putting them back in freezers for people to buy. WTH are these idiots going to put in these cars. No thanks.
😆😂😂
Hey Serg. Who is going to clean these cars between trips? Say prior passenger pukes or spills something in the car? Is the car going to pull into nearest car wash and clean itself? What about bacteria? I spray my car down after each ride. You dont know these people's hygiene or lack of in lots of cases. I dont agree with a half assed study this one insurance company performed. Although I would be willing to bet there are bacteria ridden cars on the road out there and they have a human driver. These young people will post a challenge on social media and the fools follow. Who knows what will be left behind for the next person to touch or sit in. I watched a You Tuber the other day post about a rider who had anal leakage. The next rider discovered it aftdr thdy sat in it. The driver reported it to Uber and they will not give him a cleaning fee because they cant see anything. I would cut out that part of the seat and send it to Uber tell them to smell it. I would be at the nearest jun…

I am gagging just telling you this story. If you get into one of these cars you are absolutely crazy. Ill drive my own car or call a service with a human behind the wheel. I want no parts of other peoples bodily fluids spread all over a car I get into just to save a few bucks. If anyone thinks this wont happen in these cars you are either totally naive or plain stupid.

I agree with you 100%. Uber and Lyft and all the others are in continuous fantasy land, they will have video cameras in the car recording constantly for these types of occurrences. Here's a picture for you, a couple is getting it in, car drives them directly to a motel. 😆 Or locks the doors and takes them to a police station. 😆 They don't own their cars now, they'll find out what it takes.
It would be pretty funny. These cars may record everything and if somerning gets broke I am sure they can track it to the passenger. What if its something as simple as just spilling a little something on the door handle? There will be things people can get away with or at the very leadt think they can get away with. Its not like a human will be watching every trip. People always find away around things or they think they have found a way. That car will not know that it needs to leave the road to get cleaned. Everone who thinks they are a great idea and will ride in one dont say I didnt warn you. Cant wait to hear these stories. There are idiots out there with AIDS who purposely have done things to spread to other people. I just cant get on board with this.
😆 you're funny, before any of this they have to drive a few miles before killing a pedestrian. I took a Lyft driverless car in Vegas, it took me two times longer to get there plus I was car sick from heavy breaking. 😆
I didnt even address the killing of pedestrians. The answers no i am not getting in 1st because of things nasty people do and their questionable hygeine or lack of. 2nd because it may kill me or someone else. 3rd since you mentioned the braking thing no thanks. Can you sit in the front seat of those things? If and when there is no driver can you sit in drivers seat as a rider? It will be a cold day in hell or I will have to have dementia or alzheimers before I take one:) Especially if Uber or Lyft is involved they dont care if they kill someone.
Maybe if it has no wait time. Last time I was in vegas waiting for Uber's took FOREVER!!
Unfortunately, there will be a long wait. I took a rode in an Aptiv Lyft car, it took me twice as long to go a mile and almost made me sick to my stomach. 😆
because it was so jerky?
Yes, a lot of sudden stops and hard breaking but I'm sure that will change over time. Plus they're limited to 25 mph speed.
That's insane that they are charging MORE for it. Um no thanks, I'll pay less to have a human driver please...
Not any time soon... Once they've been proven and battle hardened for a number of years then maybe.
Aside from safety concerns, I am afraid they are going to be really slow and overly cautious, leading to a very annoying and frustrating riding experience.
I dont think I will get in a driverless car until they are a little more mainstream. I want them to work out all the kinks first.
You'll have to wait at least a decade or more for that. It's a pipe dream, a sales plot.
After all the accidents with these cars a wlittle while back, no I do not think I wld trust a driverless car. Maybe I would do it with a group of friends but definitely not by myself and not if I have to pay more, that is just stupid.
I tried it In Vegas, it's an Aptiv car on the Lyft platform, it took me twice as long to drive a mile and cost 10 dollars, 3 more than a regular Lyft. They're also evidenced, they can only go on a straight line between two designated spots.
