How to place an order on Uber Eats

Uber Eats is a way of life for many people, from ordering last minute family dinners to organizing lunches for clients. However, if you are new to Uber Eats, it can be intimidating to place your first order. Below, we have created step by step guides on ordering your first Uber Eats order, group order, or business order!

To place an Uber Eats order:

  1. Download the Uber Eats app or visit ubereats.com. Sign in (or create an account) and set your delivery address.
  2. Choose the restaurant you want to order from. You can filter by type of food, delivery fee, distance, etc!
  3. Select your items and tap “Add to Cart”.
  4. To place your order, select “View cart” or “Checkout”.
  5. Review your order and tap “Place Order”.
  6. Track your order’s progress and enjoy your grub!

To place an Uber Eats group order:

  1. Sign in to the Uber Eats app or visit ubereats.com.
  2. Pick a merchant you want to order from.
  3. Select “Group order” in the app or “Start group order” on ubereats.com.
  4. Edit the details of the group order if you’d like, such as the delivery address, set a routine, an optional deadline for everyone to select their items, or an optional spending limit.
  5. You can also choose to pay for everyone or split the bill.
  6. If you set a routine for the order, you can edit the frequency, delivery days, and the routine start and end dates.
  7. Select “Share a link”. This will give you a link to send to everyone in your group.
  8. Add your own items.
  9. Once everyone else has added their items, select “View order” and “Go to checkout”.
  10. If the group order is ready, select “Lock order & continue”. By locking it, guests can’t edit or add more items. If it’s not ready, select “Go back”.
  11. Review the delivery details again and click “Next”.
  12. Select “Place group order”.

How to place an Uber Eats business group order:

Please note that to place a business group order you will need to first create a business profile!

  1. Sign into the Uber Eats app or visit ubereats.com.
  2. Select your business profile, then find the merchant you’d like to order from.
  3. Select “Group order” in the app or “Start group order” on ubereats.com.
  4. Edit the details of the group order if you need to, such as the delivery address, set a routine, or spend limit. You can also choose to pay for everyone or split the bill.
  5. If you set a routine for the order, you can edit the frequency, delivery days, and the routine start and end dates.
  6. Select “Share a link”. This will give you a link to send to everyone in your group.
  7. Add your own items if you’re participating in the order.
  8. Once everyone else has added their items, select “View order” and “Go to checkout”.
  9. If the group order is ready, select “Lock order & continue”. By locking it, guests can’t edit or add more items. If it’s not ready, select “Go back”.
  10. Review the order details again and follow the on-screen instructions.
  11. Select “Place group order”.

Now you are all ready to place your first Uber Eats order whether it's just for you, your friends, or your workplace!
