This article is not remotely accurate. It's from 2016 and I still see plenty of partitions on taxicabs. In fact, on those new Nissan taxis, there is even a tighter, thicker, bulletproof partitions.
Totally a scam. They drive around for two or five minutes and then hopes for the passenger to cancel, which triggers a cancellation fee that goes into their pockets.
Per Uber's algorithm, they need to be actively driving "towards" you (or else there won't be a cancellation fee), and that's why your drive kept driving in circles near you.
The problem is that we cannot even rate these jerks, because the rating cannot be done on trips that haven't started.
How would the drivers make money, especially in the suburbs. I can't see the economics workng. I am a driver and they need to make my time worth it. but I can't imagine people paying the uptick
Some of these are good, but I feel like there are much worse that we fear. like The Pukers. The 1-Star Rater. The I-Always-Complain-To-Uber-er., and Calls me after the ride claiming she lost something but she really didn't rider.
Does anyone know how these companies are doing? Like profitability? or are they having issues like all other rideshares? I suppose many are just trying to get the idea/concept to take off. Probably all in a investing mode and working at a loss.
Actually, yeah. It does. Are you referring to the free ride promo / credit you have? Yes, they do apply to whatever ride you take next. automatically. Regardless of whether the ride is scheduled or on-demand.
No. I know what you are saying but that's different. There is a difference between charging more for usage vs. giving you more (or less) for the same price. ..umm. yes. That.
Damn. "belligerent or combative." hahaha. that's reason to cancel whether there is an animal or not!
If that were the case, I could choose a different date and/or pickup location, and the icon should appear. but in my case, that doesn't work either.

I have no idea if this is cool or not.

Maybe he doesn't have a parking space. Those street parking is sometimes hard to come by, so maybe he doesn't want to move his car for you.
UPFRONT PRICING.
Isn't that a bit demeaning to the senior citizens?! Comparing them to dogs when bringing them along?
On the road.

It's like a modern day emergency rape whistle.
Probably won't work well inside a cabin.
True already? We knew what they had but we didn't know they actually commented on this stuff.
Is this stupid news?

Hmm. I am sorta confused now.
"All I do is copy Uber's business practices. Am I okay with this?"
