Uber is Making Big Changes in California for Drivers! Is all this due to CA AB5?
I welcome these changes over the past month culminating with commission caps at 25%, showing destination, bringing the old surge …
Do opposite of everything JC says, I'm a buyer of Lyft at $2.62, same proce as a minimum fare they pay a driver.
Good question, that's the brow lift taking advantage of desperate people. It's more like 14 and a half cents loss a mile
Not sure if you're a driver for either platform but do you think the time bump makes up for the 50% in mileage rates? Take a look at your rides and run a simple spreadsheet, you'll see what kind of hit you'll suffer.
I've done specific spreadsheet analysis, it's a cut in driver pay. In North Dakota, where all the pickups are far away, it's beneficial for the driver, in major cities where Lyft gets the majority of their business, like Los Angeles or San Francisco, it's a major cut to the tune of 20%. Take a look at these rates, the driver doesn't get paid for miles and minutes It's a flat pickup rate.
Uber used to have medallions, pure money maker a few years ago, it's coming full circle but now UBER owns the medallions.
There’s definitely a learning curve. Not sure what city you’re in but demand for higher classes may not be high. Your strategy has to change according to your position at airports and events.
Yes for the driver, most rides are at a loss with these rates. Not for Lyft or Uber though. Take a look at the rate cards I posted for Vegas and Phoenix, unconscionable!
I don't know if I should laugh or cry. I'm going to just keep fighting.
Like I said in my previous compliment, you're in the top 0.5% of 2 million drivers in the US
They don't care, they've oversaturated market to such extent that even if 20% quit they know they'll have more than enough new blood to suck on. Bring on AB5!
DO NOT PICK UP MINORS, THAT'S WHY DRIVERS HAVE A CANCEL ICON. IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK FOR ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY. IT'S NOT THE DRIVER'S PROBLEM, IT'S UBER'S LYFT'S AND THE IRRESPONSIBLE PARENT'S PROBLEM.
UBER, Lyft, pax and Wall Street
20-26 net per hours is the highest in the country or higher than 99.5% of drivers.
Uber can't be too far behind. Lyft used to follow UBER now Lyft is taking the lead in many areas. I guess as long as they habe fresh blood to suck on, they'll keep bringing it.
Yep, couch potato nation. Take an Uber X to the market and back, order food on Uber eats, order toilet paper on Amazon and binge watch Netflix. There you go!
Yes, you can drop down in category and drive for 60 cents a mile for X. Why would you do that though?
What were we until now, UBER and Lyft are cabs with an app.
80-85% are part timers who do 20% of the rides, 20% full timers do 80% of the rides.
Read what's Lyft doing about it

Jonathan, why won't you answer my question above? It's a concern for many drivers if FF gets banned in Los Angeles is San Francisco.
