Uber is Making Big Changes in California for Drivers! Is all this due to CA AB5?
I welcome these changes over the past month culminating with commission caps at 25%, showing destination, bringing the old surge …
Nope, doesn't matter on Uber X or regular Lyft. If pool or shared, you can't book more than 2 seats and price will be higher.
They're doing that now through their algorithms. So this so called flexibility and freedom is equal to a vast majority of drivers earning less than minimum wage with no rights?
Yep, they're scrapped at a ridiculous pace. They also need to be charged, electricity production unless it's solar, is not clean.
You're not exactly an IC now, you're being treated like an employee in IC clothing. The only thing you decide is when to turn your app on and off, even that's being taken away now after you turn a couple of requests down. These evil outfits need a break check, AB5 is it. I don't want to be an employee either but at 60/21 rates, game is over.
Just because it's cheaper, doesn't mean it's a good but. Heard of never catch a falling knife? I have to say show me the money before I buy UBER.
Agree 100%
Easy to do if you sell a 50 cent burger for a nickel. 😆
Remember the forecast I posted last week?
California politicians are not going get bought, we'll find out at the end if August.
I don't want to be an employee of these shady, unethical companies but the more they abuse their so called IC drivers by treating them like employees, the more I like AB5 and what it stands for. Flexibility and freedom is what Uber and Lyft try to sell their drivers but no one mentions at what cost?
It's all about control, why would Lyft allow a driver to switch platforms? So much for the IC concept.
As promised, Lyft lost $644 million dollars in the fiscal second quarter, the higher the revenues go the larger the losses are becoming, I wonder why? 😆
Then gave it all up and it's about to go negative, Wall Street has a funny way of spinning losses as far as the eye can see.
If I knew there would be no top, one of the bottles would be missing. 😆
As union members won't be IC drivers. Read the driver bill of rights on RDU page.
Good luck, first you're account will be put on hold until everything is sorted out, then you have to deal with the deductible issue, 1000 for UBER 2500 for Lyft, if you don't have additional rideshare insurance, your own insurance won't cover any part of the damages. You're broke driving for peanuts! Depending when the accident happened, phase 1,2 or 3 U/L may provide you with coverage.
This post is clickbait!
It's very easy to lose money when you under price a service by 80%. Keep selling a 50 cent burger for a nickel, you'll keep losing money.
Numbers don't lie, this April our rates in Los Angeles were cut to 60/21. April 2018 close to 50 bucks an hour, April 2019 roughly $35 an hour. Totals are less because I drove less, extrapolate to the same 44 hours, I would have only grossed about 1600 dollars, about 25% less.
Watch for fireworks at the end of August when the CA Senate passes AB5. Should be interesting.
Strike/protest wasn't for changing anything, it was to get more media coverage, which it did. I was there. However, it solidified the voices on behalf of AB5, it's a bazooka facing U/L.
