The entity has existed before Uber but not Lyft and its rideshares. Look closer. Uber in 2009 and Lyft in 2012.
How could uber copy from Lyft? Uber was way more popular ages before Lyft. If any copying occurred, it's by Lyft

I admit it isn't as easy to get a cab outside of Manhattan, I do see the irony in their launching this service just as Uber was getting massive traction. I mean, this thing started in 2013. Now that long ago.
