If a credit card machine is broken (and I don't have cash), do I have to pay the taxi driver? (or in other words, is it legal for me to walk away?)

Can the driver stay with me if I have a medical appt?

50% of all Uber drivers quit within the first 12 months
Reading this report on Uber driver statistics. There's some good stuff in here, but one thing that stood out? Half … -
How long do drivers have to accept a ride request?
My local Domino's charge delivery fee. I think it was like $1.50 or $2.50 or something...but we are expected to tip on top of that.
I tip like...round it to the next 5, kind of thing? I don't tip 15~20% though. That'd be disrespectful to the waitors/waitress, I think.
Yeah, sorta makes me mad that this entire industry is being threatened by autonomous vehicles. A whole profession gone? really?
So many stories from the streets.
Well, this was announced in April, so it isn't new. but yes, even before that they had rental programs. wasn't the parntership with zipCar just 2017?
BTW, also remember that "Uber Rent" is not how Uber is branding it. It's what this article writer just used. (I think)
Need a background check on passengers.
He isn't even on the crosswalk. wait, are they supposed to be on the crosswalk and sidewalks?
I don't even know what the rules are. is that one of the problems? Ar ethey to be treated like bicycles in a way they are supposed to share the roads with cars?
Illegal in most states. So I carry a gun instead.
This is one of those articles where no one cares. It must have been a slow uber news day, if there is such a thing.
Yeah, how dare you accuse him of being stupid. He wanted to treat you write with a generous cash tip.
Mileage using the IRS standard mileage rate. For most drivers, that's the most critical.
If you use the standard mileage rate, you cannot deduct other car expenses (including leasing and oil changes, etc.).
Uber is bigger so you hear about it more.
A Lyft driver recently abandoned his passenger in of nowhere and the kid got ran over and died.
When I saw the headline, even before I read about their initiative, all I could think was, "are they going all electric?"
Why do they need the trip records once you delete the account? Should all be deleted
I very much want one. Looked online and some people are selling them (maybe theirs?) for like $100. I assume it'll be free from Uber directly?
You guys remember when these things used to give you $20?
I am not sure if that's clever or not. I am thinking it is not.
They are all a-holes, these CEOs.
Ooh, I know this one. In fact, if you can stay under the radar long enough, the trip will be cancelled and you get to pocket the cancellation fee. Like $5. Then you don't waste time driving either. Win-win!
So they'd rather sit there in silence? I'm not obligated to talk to them and I don't think the drivers care if I talked to them.
Those people on the phones are customers who are paying to be a bit more product. I think they should be able to call them during the time they bought.
Talking on the cell phone? That's what I do on every Uber trip, when I'm taking one alone. That's just what I do...
I am surprised the fake driver even noticed.
Taxi drivers have always known the darkest secrets about everyone. Prositutes. drug dealers, everything. They've seen it all and they know who and where. dont mess with taxi drivers.
