Uber offers so many services that I can no longer keep track anymore.  I know they rented cars to drivers before, so this may not even new.  Was it just not called UberRent before?

This naming doens't even make sense either.  UberSomething should be something that is offered to the consumers, not workers or drivers.  "UberRent" should mean a Uber-like service that rents me stuff.  Maybe an apartment.

https://www.engadget.com/2018/04/11/uber-rent/

"Uber has teamed up with peer-to-peer car-sharing service Getaround to launch a new product made for those who'd rather have the whole vehicle to themselves. The company's new offering is called Uber Rent, and it will give you a way to find, rent and unlock cars listed on Getaround's platform from within the Uber app. While you'll be able rent whatever vehicle you prefer by the hour or the day, whether it's an SUV/van for a whole family or a low-emission sedan for yourself, the feature will initially be available in San Francisco only."

Oh really great news but Man, looking back at this now, it’s kinda wild how complicated Uber’s services got. But honestly, with all the changes in the rideshare game and how pricey it’s gotten lately, it’s way easier (and often cheaper) these days to just rent a car yourself—especially with platforms that make the whole process smooth. You get full control, no surge pricing, no waiting around, and it actually makes more sense if you’re doing multiple trips or errands in a day.

In the end, renting a car just gives you more freedom, and with how streamlined services are now, it’s way less hassle than trying to keep up with 10 versions of Uber.

Haven't you heard of UberAir?  LOL.  It sounds like someone will rush over to you with a can of fresh air.

    Perri-air.

What else would you call it, Uber Rental Car? That seems a bit long. Makes sense to me.

Well, this was announced in April, so it isn't new.  but yes, even before that they had rental programs.  wasn't the parntership with zipCar just 2017?

BTW, also remember that "Uber Rent" is not how Uber is branding it.  It's what this article writer just used. (I think)
