Makes pickup easier. A device that illuminates on the dashboard so riders can find their drivers.

Uber Beacon refers to the Uber sign that the driver places on their vehicles' dashboard (behind the windshield) that illuminates at night, so the riders can find their vehicles easier. This device can glow in different colors and the colors can be specified by the riders within their app. Neat, huh? 

It is designed to make the pickups easier for the drivers and make identifying the cars easier for the riders.  This can be particular important during busy times when multiple pickups are happening, say at a busy event or a street corner.

The Beacons are still in a testing phase, and they are released on a limited number of markets.  At the time of this writing, they are only offered to drivers on an invitation only basis.

    I very much want one.  Looked online and some people are selling them (maybe theirs?) for like $100.  I assume it'll be free from Uber directly?
