If a credit card machine is broken (and I don't have cash), do I have to pay the taxi driver? (or in other words, is it legal for me to walk away?)

Can the driver stay with me if I have a medical appt?

50% of all Uber drivers quit within the first 12 months
Reading this report on Uber driver statistics. There's some good stuff in here, but one thing that stood out? Half … -
How long do drivers have to accept a ride request?
Interesting. There was another article earlier this year talking about four women suing Lyft. Not a great trend, Lyft.

Typo. CharGing
I’d say number 2 after “get me to the destination in one piece.”
Why are you even trying to schedule a ride? Just call one when you are ready.
I have a new business idea. Drive-in hotel. You have an empty lot, just like a drive-in movie theater, and you just pull in and sleep.
How good looking (or bad looking) I am. LOL.
I still remember some 20/20 (or 60 minutes?) research where they determined that better looking people get bigger tips and more positive feedback. The cards are stacked against from birth.
SoftBank owns both Didi and Uber so it's basically up to them to decide.
I didn't notice before that Uber's pilot is on a small ISLAND. So weird.
I think that's the humane thing to do
Valid argument. I do the same. However, I already know the proper answer to this, and you are supposed to sit in the back. Do you know how I know? Half the time there is driver's crap all over the front seat.
This isn't a judgement on the driver. I mean they spend hours in the car every day.
No, we should totallly be suing Uber. All of us.
Unlike Damien, their mark isn't hidden in the hair. More like on the forehead.
Perpper spray makes a mess too I hope she got her cleaning fees too.
You say is isn't public transportation, but taxis are held to this same rule. They aren't pubilc, and this does affect the taxi driver's pay. They have been accommodating this forever. These drivers are on the hook for keeping the cars clean and making money while they rent out their vehicles.
That can't be all Uber help desks. There must be something else in there.
Plus, can you just pay the drivers more before you rent such a building.
Why would they need a CFO? They have infinite amount of money.
This is deceiving though. They are "autonomous cars" with a full time driver behind the wheel. I bet you didn't even notice if you took one.
Maybe you'd notice the sensors on the top of the car
These pricing arehilarious.
and I'd pay this in case of those emergencies and to not use public restrooms for #2.
As long as people are driving, there will be drunk driving. So it's all about the adoption and proliferation of rideshares.
In rural areas and suburbs, it'll take longer. but more rideshares rides are taken, less drunk driving will happen. I think this is a welcome channge.
LOL.
Uber just calculates and set the fares on whatever the drivers are willing to do their for job for. It's part capitalism. They don't care how it breaks down.
They do take a "booking fee", what they used to call the "safety fee". That is applied on everything, which supposely covers for operational fees like driver background check, support they provide the rider/driver, etc. Then there's the commissions of like 25% which is assessed on an overall trip.
