Not as a rule, but as others said if there are not enough drivers or too many people looking for rides then surge pricing may take effect.
Probably, it is all supply and demand based and I bet there wont be many drivers on Christmas so you may have to pay more. Though in turn there may not be many people looking for rides either so you may not have to pay more at all! Now New Years you will be hit hard with some expensive fares!!
