    Hi,

I get this asked by passengers very often "So, what is your other job; What else do you do besides this....) I always wander how do they konw or assume that Rideshare is my only job? :) Once a stoned lady stared at me for 5 minutes during the ride from the back seat and had the following to say "Ehhhh, uhhh, you look pretty smart for an Uber driver.... ????? lol

Well, I think there's doubts in every one's mind whether a ridesharing can be a full time job or not.  Sometimes I wonder if Uber really believes it ....or wants it to be that way.

There are many arguments as to how this should be a part-time job.  Leveraging peope's downtime, taking advantage of car that you already own, and just considering it as a supplemental income.

I don't think it's too out there that Uber never wanted full-time people.  They just wanted part-times and elimiate all fulltime drivers (i.e. taxi and limo drivers)

      Slightly, deep, I know.

Anyone know the stat on how many drivers are full time vs part time (side hustle)?

I think 30% full and 70% part time

rideshareguy blog did a survey that may serve as good reference

The thing is though, it's completely arbitrary and it depends on whom you consider as part-time.  There are so many drivers who have driven in the past and no longer drives.  or those who drive like once a month for fun.  If we counted every registered driver, the percentage will be way skewed towards part-time drivers.

Also, the rideshareguy's audience is primarily dedicated drivers.  Those who care enough to follow the blog and also took the time to answer the survey.  I would imagine the % is more like 95-5.
