Hacked, Locked Out - How Do I Restore My Account?

(Chicago) Account hacked Friday night. By Sunday morning, I was receiving receipts for rides and Uber Eats (food and liquor) in Santa Monica. "Tarek" was the driver and on two rides I was charged for zero distance. When I tried to reset my PW, it kept asking for verification codes, but I received nothing on my phone. Oddly, although I had recently turned on 2FA this did not deter them. The "hard codes" (use once) didn't help because I never printed them out. Then the hacker changed my email address. After I locked the primary (Business) credit card, they switched to my PayPal funding source...I shut that down also. In the end, I am not out any money.

Now when I try to set up a new account, my Phone Number is still obviously linked to my old account. I even received a call from a driver yesterday asking for "Mr. VIP".

I guess now that the funds are cut off, they are not going to bother to change the phone number in the account details. I have reported this to Uber and am now going through the hell of giving them the details as they (slowly) investigate.

My primary question is: How do I disconnect my phone from the old hacked account and establish a new account? What are the magic words to use with Customer Support to accomplish this?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to do this without the intervention of Uber :/ Maybe try Lyft in the meantime?
