Uber services will allow you to bring extra passengers for free, assuming they can fit into the posted passenger limit (i.e. capacity) of the vehicles. With UberX or UberBlack, you can have four total passengers, and the cost would be the same. (UberSUV and UberXL can carry 6.)
The only exception is the UberPool, where you are only allows to have one additional passenger, and you need to specify this in the app upon booking. This assures that there will be enough room in the car when it arrives.

It charges extra if you are in an UberPool ride and you are riding with someone else. I think it depends on how long the trip is how much the extra person costs. Either day, it's defintiely cheaper than the standard Uberx.
