I am based in Philadelphia PA but was driving in Wildwood NJ over Labor Day weekend where the surge was still a multiplier surge. Was then driving this past weekend (Irish weekend) in Wildwood when the bar area surged but it was a flat fee dollar amt $8.75. Was wondering if Uber changed NJ into flat fee dollar amt for surge and took away multiplier or was it just because it is off season now for the winter? Appreciate if anyone from NJ can answer.
Looking for NJ drivers to answer a question. Did Uber take away the multiplier surge as of 9/19/19?

Nope, they changed to the penny surge in Los Angeles as well, it's going nationwide. That's the way to charge pax the multiplier and pay the drover peanuts. Another pay cut, I already have screenshots of UBER charging pax 3x and paying the driver $5, they called it more consistent earnings and longer lasting surge.
Please, everyone, don't call it flat rate surge, flat and surge in the same sentence is an oxymoron. I labeled it the penny surge, it's similar to Lyft PPZ.
