Article states it's the investors that want drivers rates cut, driverless cars asap, and bonuses, promotions to be eliminated. Is it Uber and Lyft? Investors? Drivers, what are your thoughts?

That’s the New York Post not the New York Times, FYI. Ironically the New York Times are constantly reporting things incorrectly so I guess it’s no big deal. 😂

Yes I plan to participate on May 8 in three days. I’m not only going to not drive I am going to order and cancel one right before the two minute mark on each service.  I am specifically doing this to agitate the scabs among us who will be out there trying to get the two or three dollar surges.

Here in Philly we are not striking or protesting. I think they are calling it "a rally" for 4 hrs at the Greenlight Hub. What sucks even more is now that Uber knows about Strike/Protest whatever each city calls it Uber changed IPO date until Friday the 10th. Something happening on the 28th here in Philly with a politician or 2 and some drivers also. Not sure what. I live and drive in Philly and knew nothing abouut it. I happen to catch it in a You Tube channel by accident. So guess a few of us or more are not in the "click" here in Philly. I came across their facebook page and asked who was organizing Philly. We have a local paper here thats popular in few neighborhoods in the Upper end of Philly. Wanted to know if they were interested in them doing an article. No one even bothered to answer. So as I said, not part of the "click". This is why I dont get involved with certain things. A group organizes things and pick and choose who they want around. I know…

I know a few drivers in Philly and Bucks (right outside of Philly) that knew nothing . I didnt even know we had a  "group" or whatever. Apparently they dont care about all of the drivers. I dont have a clue what they are fighting for dont even know if I agree. It's kinda hard when you know none of this existed or what they want from Uber. What I do know is I dont want to be an employee. They have enough say over what we do now. At this point technically not a strike here just a 4 hr rally. Ill do me and whats good for me and mine and they can do them. Since not all drivers matter in Philly. Hey new group "not all drivers matter".

What are they doing at the rally? Is this one of the picket lines?

If Uber's changing the date was indeed triggered by this strike, it means it was a big success.  It means they made a difference and there was enough impact felt.

Thank God for the New York Times and The Washington Post ! I think that without these bastions of truth we would have made it all the way to ‘1984’. They are not perfect but as close to honest as there is anywhere!

Not sure about the canceling thing. You are affecting the riders while the purpose of the strike is to send a customer to Uber. Let's not inconvenience the consumers who is not at fault for the mess Uber has created.

The strike is obviously impacting the riders. The cancel spam directly impacts drivers who drive during the strike. If riders can’t get a ride so easily during the strike isn’t that the point?

Personally I liked the trucker’s “slow roll” protest better. They broke no laws they simply calculated that driving at the exact speed limit would cause a meltdown in Chicago. Brilliant ha absolutely brilliant. 😂
