A friend of mine in Hawaii told me that Honolulu city council just voted to impose a cap on surge pricing for Uber and Lyft. Uber and Lyft have basically said, if this goes through, we're out. Anyone know anything more?

But this is going to hurt drivers the most. Surge pricing is good for drivers. Rates are too low otherwise.

If Uber and Lyft leave, will we see the same thing as Austin? Local rideshare companies popping up?
Hopefully they will pull out of NYC and take their tightwad passengers with them
yeah the thing is... even if Uber and Lyft pull out of NYC, the tightwad passengers are going to remain
So, basically turning rideshares into taxis. Ok.
