After hearing about the recent taxi driver suicides, Dara is proposing that a fee be added to rideshare apps in an effort to raise money for the struggling taxi drivers who independently own medallions. Seems like a nice gesture but people are not into it. Many think he is trying to avoid possible regulations and others say his gesture is "too late"

NO shortage of stupidity. Twenty years ago before all the commie pinkos landed in NYC, the TLC purposed installing a meter in all for hire vehicles to level out the playing field. Now is the perfect opportunity to do so in which all apps would become powerless and all the tightwads can go back to mass transit. Of course door to door service is premium so the metered rate would be higher than a yellow cab which means less congestion, and upswing in the medallion value.
I actaully really like this idea. Of course I also think there should be some regulations around rideshares but I feel like this is a kind gesture, why would people turn it down?!
You do realize that it will be the RIDERS that will be paying for this "bailout" NOT Dara! Easy to come up with a plan when you can sit back and not fork over any money.
This is too soft, sorry taxi drivers but this is just the way the world works.
