This is exactly why I dont trust the government getting involved. Uber & Lyft dont seem to worried about AB5. Initially they seemed scared. They sent messages to drivers to have them sign that they didnt want to be employees. They even staged a small rally that they paid drivers to attend. They have made no attempt in increasing drivers rates. Lets face it if rates were increased most drivers would be happy and problem solved. Uber & Lyft were running scared. The bill is due to come up in September. Neither company seems worried. Making drivers employees is supposed to kill their business. They would never be profitable. So how is it they are doing nothing to prevent AB5? Are they paying off politicians in CA? I dont trust Uber, Lyft, or politicians. Who can the drivers trust?

Corruption gon' corrupt...
This industry has always been corrupt. Some things never change.
California politicians are not going get bought, we'll find out at the end if August.
That is how the US works. You have money things get done. Politicians are paid off all the time with money or owing a favor. It's nothing new. Nice you have faith and trust in them but I dont. Not saying I am right its just my opinion. I hope they are not able to pay off CA politicians but It wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Things won't change for the better unless you do something about it yourselves.
Comfort makes more prisoners than all the jails combined. None of the ride-sharing companies around the world Uber/Lyft — Juno in NYC, Didi in China, Ola in India, Grab in Southeast Asia — are profitable. Think of buying a Ryde token as joining a union, or owning a piece of the rideshare industry - whatever your reasons, depending on politicians is like waiting for Travis Kalanick to return as Uber CEO and cancel the tipping option. Trust the BLOCKCHAIN. Trust yourselves!
