I didn't think they could do it but they did. Here is what London got in return:
Uber had agreed to install new leadership in London, adopt rules to report incidents to the police, keep tired drivers off the road, and share traffic data with the city.

Not sure how this delivers the message that rideshares "must play by the rules"
Nothing on background checks?!
True Uber style. Works over and over.
"The closely watched case could serve as a template for other cities looking to extract concessions from Uber, the ride-hailing service that has upended the taxi industry worldwide, often by ignoring the concerns of regulators. The company suffered a major setback with that approach last fall, when the transport authorities in London — its most lucrative European market — withdrew its license. It has been able to continue to operate through the appeals process."
There goes the iconic Black Cabs. so sad to see them disappear from the London landscape.
Well if Black Cabs operators are smart, they'll just start using Uber on their phones. Can they do that?
Wait, CAN THEY DO THAT? Just drive around and use the Uber App?
What about in NYC? Why don't Yellow cab drivers just drive for U berX at the same time?
Ridiculous. All they have to do is to promise to change. They are all in bed together.
They aleady responded to the appeal? Many expected this to take months and potentially years, and how that was how Uber wanted to play it. I mean, they nevere ceased operating. We all thought it was a delay tactic but they outright win it. How much did they spend on lobbists and throw cash under the table?
This is a huge win for Uber, they have been fighting for London for quite some time now.
