The Difference between Uber Wav and Uber Assist
Uber Wav stands for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle. Uber Wav cars are vans/suvs that have ramps for motorized or non-folding wheelchairs and/or scooters. The cost of an Uber Wav is the same as the UberX cost for that city plus a $2 fee (fee might differ slightly across markets). Uber Wav is only available in select markets, you can use our fare calcualtor to see if it is available for your trip or check on Uber.com
Additionaly, Uber also has UberAssist which is a service designed to provide additional support to seniors and those with disabilities. UberAssist vehicles cannot accomodate motorized or non-folding wheelchairs but they can accomodate foling wheelchairs, folding scooters, and walkers. UberAssist is the same cost as UberX and is also only currently in select markets.

I believe the Uber Assist waives the Uber fees from what I remember.
OMG, Uber's naming is so horrible. Seriously, how was anyone supposed to know that's what Wav stands for???

I'm sorry but I thought UberWave was a lot cooler before I read this article. I thought it was like Uber for surfer or something.
I actually thought it was like a radio wave or those music files that we all listened to on a Windows machine. Like in the 80s. Remember those?
i too excitedly clicked on this post thinking it was some super weapon produced by Uber. But alas.
