I am looking for feedback from Ride Gurus, Riders, and/or drivers of Uber, UberEats, DoorDash, Postmates, Drizly, GrubHub, and Instacart for this post. So, please help us with this survey question.

From studies, it’s a pity that 60% of the rides don’t result in a tip. It’s sad to note the behavior of many riders. So, the question for the drivers is this.

We are looking at a new method that requires drivers to motivate riders to tip a minimum guaranteed amount, but without asking them explicitly to tip for the reward received.

The guaranteed minimum tip amount will be 400% of the cost of the reward. Again, this is the minimum tip amount guaranteed, which means it could be lot higher also.

The reward will be appealing such that even the regular tippers will be inclined to use the system to tip more than they do today.

Would drivers and riders be interested in trying it out if a system were offered? Appreciate your feedback.

So if you tip $4, you get $1 back somehow? Into an accountant my or something? Can you explain how this works in a bit more detail?

Yes. Think of the rider getting points or something equivalent that costs the driver $1. Remember, these riders never tip. The idea is to convert 60% of the riders who do not tip as well as those that tip using the rideshare app to tip more.

Would drivers be interested in investing $1 to reward the rider is the question I am trying to get feedback for launching our solution.

So, your feedback (all those that come across this post; they can be a driver, rider, or expert) is highly desired and appreciated.

      Thanks!

TBH I am skeptical that people would use this. People who don't tip aren't going to care that they could get a quarter of their tip back. It's still spending money to them.

What if I conduct a weekly drawing of prizes in various ranges of $2 to $5K by getting sponsorships from various brands?
