I think that idea is kind of a utopian dream... for Uber. Not gonna happen for most people.
No way. They can want whatever they want. If you live in some dense urban locale where parking is very inconvenient and you can walk to get most of what you need, I can see it. For the rest of us, no way. I like to be able to hop in the car to drive somewhere when I need to.
Uber cars, Uber scooters, Uber boats, Uber helicopter, Uber submarine, Uber eats, Uber e-bikes?
And then you binge watch Netflix, you don't have to leave your couch. 😆
Better yet, Uber RV. Then I can binge watch Netflix while im being driven to the dentist!
To the UBER dentist?
As per DOT data, most personal cars on the road today are utilized at a 15-20% clip, between car payment, gas, registration, insurance, maintenance it costs over $500 a month to own a car. Would it make more sense not to own one?
How do you go on vacation if you can't drive? Will road trips be gone forever? Will camping trips be a thing of the past? Should we shutter all National Parks and recreational areas in the country?
There are so many things we do that are absolutely dependent on cars, and would be near impossible for the average Joe to afford via rideshare.
Am I going to park my BMW 535i, Lexus RX350, Nissan Altima and Sentra, and Jag Type X after spending tens of thousands of dollars to purchase them? HELL NO.
If you're afraid of driving or so addicted to your phone that you can't dedicate a few minutes to safely commute, there are already options for you... the bus, taxis, rideshare, etc.
Well, you’ll take an Uber X to the airport, take an Uber X on vacation. Take Uber helicopter and an Uber Submarine. In the meantime take Uber scooters everywhere and order Uber Eats. There you go, no car needed. That’s how Uber sold the idea to their investors and created 70 billion of wealth out of thin air. I think you got the my headline as if I was in favor of dumping the personal cars. I was being facetious. 😂
