  I don’t know about the cc fees but I know they don’t take the percentage comissuons from the tip portion. I asked a driver once.

  Scheduling is only available in certain markets and locations.  If you are in an area Uber feels cannot guarantee you a ride, (even though it isn't guaranteed), they won't offer you an option to schedule.

  As few other posters mentioned, there is such thing as a expectation of privacy.  When you go to someone's house (their private property), you expect that you won't be recorded in the bathrooms or have a camera up your skirt while sitting on a couch. The same applies for people's cars.  I think.

  Closely related is the rules on consent. Most require your consent, and this sets the expectation of privacy. So using the above example, if you have a sign that says "you will be recorded in the bathroom", it makes it okay.  

  (So technically, I guess you are right. You can do whatever you want on your property, but you just need consent. - in most localities. )

  I hope they spent it on good things...like safety. 

  Reading how some of the investors and founders making billions, it’s weird to think this entire amount went directly to like one person.

  Benefits and such. Whether this helps the drivers depends on those people.  It’ll help people who are full time and are dedicated to the job. This can push out those who did this on an ad-hoc or on-demand basis. 

  This was one of the goals or agenda of these people who pushed for the AB5. They claim better lives, pay, quality of work, etc, but that was the underlying goal IMO.

  That’s retaliatory. You can’t do that. You should self reflect and if there is a reason the rider didn’t tip, you should accept that. You should rate them according to what they are expected to do during a ride as a passenger. 

  The rating shouldn’t be reflective of whether the person tipped or how much they tipped. What would you do (what would you rate them), if the rider was a total jerkoff but he tipped you $200?

  I was thinking the same thing. The journalist who picked up this story couldn’t come up with anything interesting to say. 

  The most eye catching is the 5000 mile thing which was supposed to give him credibility. That is such a clock bait.  Then we read it and it has nothing interesting

  I didn’t know either of the buzz words.  E-scooters and micro-mobility?

  E-scooters.  Is that because we book them electronically (app) or because they run on electricity?  

  Micro-mobility. Is that because scooters are tinier than cars and bikes?  Or because they cost very little?
