Waave - New app to help taxis compete with Uber
Anyone heard about them? Waave? -
Carrying multiple phones, driver apps, and accounts. Does this really happen? Does it really work?
I am a driver but I take Uber sometimes. I ran into a driver the other day who told me …
WHAT. First of all, does the Uber app even know our battery level? Second of all...why would that change the price? oh, because you are so desperate that you'd take any ride?
Yes, but I heard there is quite a bit of thefts and vandalisms with these things. College pranksters hang them up as trophies in their dormrooms.
They claim GPS and all that, but once you cut the electricity and take out the controlbox, it's back to a regular ol' electric scooter.
Plus, people love bashing and destroying things they find in public.
I have always had the suspicion of their surge practice, and I think it’s wide spread enough that everyone just accepts it.
The good news is that after multiple of these, the driver will eventually be deactivated. Every driver has a bad day once in a while but repeat offenders? It'll catch up to them and they will be weeded out.
that's why it's stupid that this is even a law. Rules like this are costing the time money of innocent people and all it takes for a crook is to pay $1.00 on eBay.
They must have VERY loose rules against rideshares.
Or that for a start-up to prove itself, it needs to compete in this battlefield to prove itself.
New world. The days post-IPO. Public investors want drivers to suffer. It's all financials now.
We've been in a honeymoon period all along. It just came crashing down.
"side hustle to your side hustle. " They are working drivers to the bone.
LOL. all robocalls.
who's the random girl.
Let me make it easy for you. It isn't.
Great info. thanks for this. funny because I just rented a $19 an hour. not sure how that compares to these services.
Wait, really? That is actually not a bad card at all. How can Uber out of all these companies offer such good benefits?
4% on restaurants is better than what I have with my Amazon Prime card at 3%.
and Phone protection? I currently pay $9 through Verizon.
OMGosh. This is so true and I am worried for our society. Everyone feels like if something goes wrong, something or someone has to be blamed! Is this an entitlement thing? Is it an insecurity thing? No one seems to blame themselves or accept that sometimes, the world is a crappy place and no one wins. or loses.
Dara was asked the same question around how many drivers there should be. His response was that if they have more drivers, more riders will use Uber and in the end there will be plenty of money for the drivers.
I dunno. Sounds like a circular logic.
I am surprised that drivers can be so picky. No offense. Just surprised. I thought drivers were hungry for fares. and money. and we all love money.
Ali Sayed is a funny guy. Loved by many.

Is it me that I keep reading steaks.
Wow. You are so right. I didn't really think about this. Uber doesn't check this as part of the background check.
Hey, wait a minute though. Even if you are legally blinde, your vision can still be corrected, right? As long as they have driver's license, maybe you are cool?
This is old news, no? Oh, it's six months old.
I feel like, "ban", is kind of a strong word. It's just disallowing the driver to stop working for a few hours so he or she can get some rest. It's being enforced by most cities like Chicago anyways.
